In 1996, the Institute of Cardiology was transformed into the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy (NCCT) under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic. The status of the NCCT is defined as the highest state scientific medical organization on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic in cardiology, internal and mountain medicine.
In 2002, an interdepartmental Research Institute of Molecular Biology and Medicine was established on the basis of the Department of Fundamental Research of the NCCT. In 2003, the Department of Cardiac Surgery of the NCCT was transformed into the Research Institute of Cardiac Surgery and Organ Transplantation, the purpose of which was to optimize diagnostic and specialized surgical care for patients with diseases of the heart and other vital organs.
At present, these institutes carry out their scientific and other activities independently of the NCCT.
On October 30, 2004, the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic was named after Academician Mirsaid Mirrakhimov.
Thus, the research problem laboratory “Physiology and Pathology of the Human Body in High Mountain Conditions” has turned into a large highly qualified scientific, medical and educational center in the field of cardiology, internal and mountain medicine. Modern diagnostic technologies that meet international standards are debugged and function here and treatment; highly qualified personnel work, there is high-precision equipment.
